Holidays in the Maldives

The Maldives, made up of 1,190 islands, is a true paradise with blue lagoons, white sand beaches, and unique flora. Here you can enjoy peace and quiet, admire the natural beauty, and explore a rich underwater world. However, especially important for modern tourists is the high level of service and the availability of hotels designed to make your stay on the islands unforgettable.

Beaches in the Maldives
In the Maldives, every road leads to the beach: soft white sand, blue waves, and palm trees create the illusion of a perfect vacation straight out of an advertising poster. The shores are almost always wide, comfortable, and equipped with umbrellas to protect you from the hot sun.

Topless sunbathing and drinking alcohol are strictly prohibited on Maldivian beaches. Among the most famous beaches in the archipelago are Naladhoo and Banyan Tree in Male Atoll, and San and Nika in Ari Atoll. Turtles are common on Lhaviyani, and dolphins are a popular attraction near Maafushi. Wealthy guests prefer to relax on the islands of Hadahaa, Kunfunadhoo, and Veligandu.

Even the capital has an equipped beach, though not as luxurious as those found in the resorts, it is ideal for surfing and sunbathing.

Diving in the Maldives
The Maldives boasts ideal water temperatures, excellent visibility of up to 30 meters, and, of course, professional dive centers. However, there are some drawbacks, such as strong currents outside the reefs. The best time to dive in the archipelago is from January to April, when the weather is sunny and the water is crystal clear. Giraavaru Island Resort, located in the North Atoll, has over 20 popular spots, attracting divers from all over the world.

Surfing
Surfing in the Maldives only became popular in the late 1980s, when the first enthusiasts arrived. Today, these islands are deservedly considered some of the best surfing spots in the world: they’re never crowded, and the waves are a true delight: high, stable, and perfectly formed. Every year, Lohifushi Island hosts the prestigious international O’Neill Deep Blue Open.
