Germany is famous all over the world for its industry, beer, holidays and of course ski resorts in the Bavarian Alps.
As ski tourism develops more and more every year, the number of resorts in the Bavarian Alps is also increasing. The best resorts can be considered the Berchtesgadener Land, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberstdorf. All these resorts are very popular in Germany and are famous for their beautiful ski slopes, wonderful tourist infrastructure and, compared to Switzerland, low prices.
Each resort is beautiful and unique in its own way. The Berchtesgadener Land, for example, is distinguished by its modernity. Here you can try the latest winter activities: ice skating on frozen lakes, trekking in the mountains, riding a sled on the deepest snow drifts, try such sports as snowboarding, freestyle, bobsleigh and tandem boarding. Tandem boarding is riding on a board in pairs, arranged on the principle of a tandem bicycle.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of the most fashionable resorts in the Bavarian Alps. Its special feature is its location near the highest peak in Germany – Zugspitze mountain, 2964 meters high. This resort is special because it is not only a ski resort, but also a good balneological resort. Garmisch-Partenkirchen has different types of trails: for extreme sports enthusiasts in the Zugspitze area – slalom trails through the forest, for beginners in the Wank area – trails with gentle slopes. In short, there is a trail for every skier.
Well, the most picturesque resort is considered to be Oberstdorf. It is located on the border with Austria, in the southwest of Bavaria, in a valley. Just like all ski resorts, there are a variety of trails here: both for beginners and for hosting world tournaments. But Oberstdorf is distinguished by its unrivaled landscapes. There are three ski areas here: Nebelhorn, Fellhorn and Söllereck. Each of them is also special in its own way. Nebelhorn is the longest slope in all of Germany, which stretches for 7.5 km. As for Fellhorn, there you will find the most modern lift with cabins for 6 people.
Slopes for every taste, stunning Alpine landscapes and good conditions for tourists are what you need for a good winter holiday. Come to the Bavarian Alps and relax to the fullest.
