Piran Attractions

Piran is a small town on the Adriatic coast. Situated near Croatia and Italy, it occupies 30 km of coastline.

Its territory boasts a well-preserved number of historical monuments and architecture. The road to Piran skirts a cliff, offering a magnificent view of the town—azure waters, snow-white yachts, and fairytale-like roofs.

The Slovenian town of Piran enjoys a beautiful location: 7 km from the Croatian border and 23 km from the Italian border.

Today, the resort boasts unique architectural examples from various historical periods. Venetian architecture predominates in the town.

What to see?
Tartini Square
Piran’s main attraction is its perfectly circular central square, Tartini Square, named after the Italian violinist.

The central square is located close to the waterfront, offering many restaurants and cafes, and the buildings are beautifully illuminated.

Fortress Wall
A 7-8-minute walk from the main square will open up to a stunning view of the city and the sea. Entrance to the fortress walls is charged, but the view is worth the money.

Church of St. George
The Church of St. George is another unique landmark in Piran. Its bell tower was built in the style of the Venetian bell tower of San Marco.

To reach the church, you first need to navigate narrow, cobbled streets and then climb old wooden steps that constantly creak underfoot.

City Library
The city library has a large collection of books and periodicals.
