To experience the real Greece, you must visit Corfu. Corfu is rightfully considered one of the greenest islands in the Ionian Sea. It is also famous for its olive groves and orange orchards.

Cuisine, Food, and Delicacies
Local chefs are inspired by the island’s traditions to create new culinary achievements. Corfu also has many traditional taverns and luxurious restaurants offering a wide selection of local cuisine. Corfu cuisine is a specialty. Be sure to visit one of the local fish restaurants, called psarotaverns. Also try the rooster in wine, “kokoras krasatos,” and rabbit with onions, “stifado,” traditional local dishes.

Corfu combines Venetian, Mediterranean, and Greek cuisine. The local dishes are characterized by the abundance of spices, wine, and a variety of peppers.

Entertainment in Corfu
For active holiday enthusiasts, there are ample opportunities for divers, water skiers, and hang gliders. From the island’s peaks, you can see not only the coastline but even Italy.

Near the capital of Corfu, you’ll find Aqualand, a water park. Both children and adults will be entertained with its various slides.

Another attraction is the Acoli Waterfalls. These small streams, hidden among olive trees and vineyards, are a great stress reliever.

Where to go in Corfu?
Mouse Island, also known as Pontikonisi, is home to a small church built by monks in the 13th century.

Visit Sidari, a resort in northern Corfu known for its uniquely shaped cliffs and beautiful beaches. The sea here is shallow and warmer than in Paleokastritsa. A wide variety of tavernas serving local dishes are nearby.

Not far from Sidari is Peroulades. The layered sandstone cliffs provide a beautiful vantage point for watching the sunset. At low tide, a strip of sand near the sea becomes exposed, making it suitable for use as a beach.
