Ohrid Beaches
All of Ohrid’s beaches are located on the shores of the local lake, which stretches for over 30 kilometers. The average water temperature is 25 degrees Celsius. The swimming season lasts from May to September. There are numerous hotels and guesthouses located on the lakeshore. One of the popular activities in Ohrid is sailing. You can rent a yacht or go out on a boat.

Summer Drama Festival
The Summer Drama Festival is one of the most important music and drama festivals in Macedonia. Troupes from all over Europe come here. The festival has fixed dates: from July 12th to August 20th.
Monasteries and Churches
Ohrid is home to about a hundred monasteries and churches, some over 10 centuries old. For example, the Monastery of St. Panteleimon was founded in the 9th century. It formerly housed the first Slavic university and the oldest medical school in Europe. The monastery currently houses about 800 Byzantine-style icons.
Church of St. Clement.
Clement is famous for adding letters to the Greek alphabet, created to represent the corresponding Slavic sounds. His relics are kept in the church.
The Church of St. John of Kaneo is a symbol of Macedonia. It rises above the lake on a rocky cliff. This church is decorated with 13th-century frescoes.
Lake Ohrid
Lake Ohrid is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful and cleanest in Europe. The lake is so large and deep that it can be mistaken for a sea.
The lake offers swimming, sailing, boating, and diving. Numerous churches are located along the lake’s shores.
Galichica National Park
Galichica National Park is located between two of Macedonia’s largest lakes, Ohrid and Presla. The park’s main attraction is Magaro Peak, over 2 kilometers high. The more than 1,000 plant species found here are also impressive.
