Aspen Ski Resort

Aspen is a popular ski resort, considered quite expensive and highly prestigious. Aspen comprises four isolated ski areas: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Aspen Snowmass. Together, they offer over 200 kilometers of trails of varying skill levels, an extensive lift system, a single ski pass, and a free shuttle.

Aspen Ski Areas
The town of Aspen is part of the Aspen Mountain ski area. The Silver Queen gondola’s base station is located right in its center. Ajax Mountain, a ski area for advanced skiers, towers above the town. The mountain offers challenging, steep runs, numerous moguls, and forest skiing. There are also well-groomed trails for intermediate skiers. Unfortunately, it’s not suitable for beginners, as it’s the only ski area in America without green runs. But Buttermilk’s gentle, wide slopes are perfect for family skiing. Snowboarders can enjoy a superpipe and the world’s longest fun park, stretching 2 miles.

Aspen Highlands is suitable for skiers of all levels, but the area is best known for its challenging runs.

The largest ski area, Snowmass, offers runs for all skill levels, but most are for intermediate skiers.
