Entertainment and Attractions
Due to World War II, Berlin has very few truly historical landmarks left. These are mostly meticulously restored cathedrals, residences, and even entire neighborhoods. But first-class museums and an abundance of original monuments will delight curious tourists.

Start with the ever-busy Reichstag and the Brandenburg Gate. Nearby, a section of the infamous Berlin Wall remains. It was approximately 155 km long and reached a height of 4.1 meters. Today, you can buy a fragment of the wall as a souvenir.

Nineteenth-century monuments include the Kaiser Wilhelm Church, the New Synagogue, and “Europe’s largest café” on Kurfürstendamm.

Berlin’s best observation decks include the Alexanderplatz TV Tower, the domes of the Reichstag, the Victory Monument in Tiergarten Park, and the ultra-modern panoramic platform on Potsdamer Platz.

The main religious building is the Berlin Cathedral, or Berliner Dom, located next to Museum Island. The Marienkirche is Berlin’s tallest church. St. Nicholas Church, however, has been converted into a museum, despite being the oldest religious building in the German capital, founded in the early 13th century.

Berlin Museums
Berlin’s museums are a special pride of the German capital. The best place to start your tour is on Museum Island, home to five worthy collections, the best of which is in the Pergamon.
