
The Gubałówka Ski Resort is located in the northwestern part of Zakopane, at an altitude of 1,123 meters above sea level. To the east of Gubałówka lies Poland’s highest village, Ząb.
From the summit, you can admire a beautiful view of the Polish Tatra Mountains across the valley below, as well as panoramic views of Zakopane and Podhale, the Pieniny Mountains, and Slovak territory.
Gubałówka Trails
The Gubałówka Ridge stretches for 9 kilometers and has a gentle summit that extends from Kotelnica to Butorowa Wierch. The first 108-passenger funicular opened in 1936. Other lifts and trails are located on the southern slope of Gubałówka and on the southeastern slope of its tip in Kotelnica. Several private T-bar lifts operate along the ridge on the northeastern slope of Gubałówka.
A halfpipe has been built for snowboarders in Upper Clearing. Gubałówka has six slopes: two red and four blue, as well as several practice slopes.
Attractions and attractions in Gubałówka
Zakopane has an aqua park with water slides, indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, and a bowling alley. On the way to Krakow, you can stop in Rabka-Zdrój, home to the Rabkoland amusement park.
Morskie Oko Lake is located 12 km southeast of Zakopane. Buses depart from Kościuszki Street and go to Polana Palenica. A 9-km road leads to the lake, but access is prohibited, so you’ll have to walk.
Near Zakopane, on the right bank of the Dunajec River at the foot of the Pieniny Mountains, stands Niedzica Castle, built between 1320 and 1326. The castle now houses a museum with a collection of old printed publications and engravings depicting views of the castle at various periods in its history, as well as a collection of antique clocks and hunting weapons from the 18th and 19th centuries.
