Masurian Lakes

Masurian Lakes Attractions
The towns of Węgorzewo, Giżycko, and Mikołajki boast water tourism centers with marinas and bays, excellent infrastructure, recreation centers, hotels, and watersports equipment shops.

Giżycko
The main attractions of Giżycko include the swing bridge, built in 1889 and the only one of its kind in Poland, the Boyena Fortress, and the water tower.

Aquapark
The Tropicana Aquapark in Mikołajki is very popular in the summer. Tropicana features water slides, several swimming pools, a mountain river, dry and steam saunas, a jacuzzi, and snow and salt caves.

Olsztyn
The largest city in the region is known not only for its attractions but also as one of the most popular ski resorts in Poland. Among the city’s architectural highlights are the high gate, the main entrance to the Old Town; the Gothic castle of the Warmian Chapter, now the Museum of Warmia and Masuria; the Baroque Old Town Hall; and the Gothic St. James’s Cathedral.

Ryn
Tourists come to Ryn to see the Teutonic castle, originally built in the 14th century and later reconstructed in the English neo-Gothic style. The castle now houses a regional museum with over 700 exhibits covering archeology, art, ethnography, geology, and literature.
