Bath is one of the most beautiful cities in England

Bath, the capital of Somerset, is located on the River Avon. This popular spa resort has been known since ancient times for its therapeutic mineral springs.

In 1775, traces of Roman baths were discovered in Bath and later turned into a museum. As a result, London’s wealthy, led by Richard Nash, began to frequent the city. Robert Adam, the renowned architect, designed the elegant Pulteney Bridge across the River Avon.

During the second half of the 18th and 19th centuries, Bath was the unofficial capital of British social life. The city also served as the setting for two of Jane Austen’s novels, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion.
