The magical resort of Weggis

Weggis is located on the shores of Lake Lucerne in central Switzerland. Its favorable location in the heart of the country makes it an ideal base for excursions to the Alps, Zurich, Lucerne, and Bern.

Weggis enjoys a very mild climate. Protected from cold winds by mountains, the town is lush with chestnut trees, grapevines, magnolias, fig trees, orchids, and even palm trees. The green belt stretches for several kilometers along the lakeshore.

The town has a rich history. The parish church is the oldest building in Weggis, built in the 12th century. It is decorated with frescoes. Weggis offers a wide range of outdoor activities, including tennis courts, a golf course, fishing, and water sports. Numerous walking trails and the slopes of Mount Rigi are also available.

Events
For a comfortable stay, Weggis offers a wide cultural program. Various events are held both in winter and summer. The Riviera Latina Festival is held every last weekend in May; a folk music festival takes place in June; and a Christmas market opens on the waterfront at the end of the second week of December.
