Mürren is the highest settlement in the Jungfrau, located at an altitude of 1,650 meters. Mürren is considered the birthplace of alpine skiing. In 1931, British ski enthusiasts held the first World Championships here.
Mürren Slopes
The ski area ranges from 1,600 to 3,000 meters. Skiers can enjoy 12 ski lifts, a funicular, a cable car, 28 ski runs covering 53 km, three toboggan runs with an elevation difference of over 500 meters, a kindergarten, and a snow park.
Activities and Attractions in Mürren
Besides skiing, Mürren offers paragliding and ice climbing. Curling tournaments are held every Tuesday. You can also ride the toboggan or explore the hiking trails. The sports center has two artificial ice rinks.
A new highlight of Mühren is snowshoeing. You can go on a one-day snowshoe trek near the resort, or you can opt for a two-day hike with an overnight stay in a high-mountain hut.
Guided ascents of the Jungfrau or Mönch are available. Hiking equipment is available for rent at the sports shop.
Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy numerous mountain bike routes of varying difficulty. Two tennis courts and an 18-hole golf course are also available. A visit to an Alpine dairy farm is a pleasant addition.
