In summer, Interlaken offers numerous day trips to the Jungfrau Mountains via the high-mountain railway, the Harder Kulm, the Scheidegg Glacier, Lakes Brienz and Thun, and many other destinations.
Be sure to visit the Sanct Beatus caves, known to man since prehistoric times, with their underground waterfalls and gorges. The area around Interlaken offers numerous opportunities to skydive, hang-glide, paraglide, raft, and rock climb.
In summer, Lakes Brienz and Thun offer water sports, fishing, boating, motorboating, and yachting. The water in the lakes is warm enough for swimming. For cycling enthusiasts, the route around Lake Brienz is a real treat. It takes approximately four hours, and along the way you’ll pass the stunning Giessbach Falls.
