Saas-Fee Ski Resort

Saas-Fee is an excellent destination for advanced and expert skiers, and is one of the highest resorts in Switzerland. The ski area consists of four parts, with the nearby villages of Saas-Grund, Saas-Balen, and Saas-Almagell nearby. A bus service runs to each village, and a local ski pass connects all these resorts.

Saas-Fee Ski Area
Saas-Fee boasts constant snow thanks to the Vögletscher Glacier, which compensates for the lack of pistes for skiers.

However, the glacier is also dangerous due to its crevasses, so off-piste skiing is strictly prohibited.

There are only a few black runs here, but they will fully satisfy the needs of even the most experienced skiers. Excellent red and black runs with good snow cover descend from the Längfluh peak, and the Platjen and Felskinn slopes are also worth exploring. Along the edges of the glacier are challenging sections, including the steep black run of Längfluh Spielboden and the mogul terrain on the slopes of Egginer Joch. Generally, the challenging runs are attractive for their terrain rather than their steepness.

For intermediate skiers, long and relatively easy “red” runs are located in Mittelalalin. The resort’s longest run, 14 km, runs from Allalin to the village. Snowboarders will also find this resort interesting; Saas-Fee boasts a fun park located at an altitude of 3,400 meters, open year-round, as well as a halfpipe and a boardercross run. For beginners, a large ski area is located below the station.

For cross-country skiers, there are 8 km of runs, including 6 km of classic runs, 2 km of skating runs, and another 26 km of runs in the region. Also available: 52 km of marked and prepared winter hiking trails, 30 km of snowshoeing trails and a 5 km toboggan run with an elevation difference of 550 m.
