St. Moritz is located in the Engadin Valley and enjoys a unique climate, with 322 sunny days a year. The resort consists of two parts: St. Moritz-Dorf and St. Moritz-Bad.
Along with Gstaad, it is considered the most famous and aristocratic of all the ski resorts in Switzerland. St. Moritz is a popular holiday destination for royalty, billionaires, politicians, and show business stars. Many are put off by St. Moritz’s high prices, but others are drawn by the opportunity to experience “business class” skiing. And there are quite a few of them: the resort welcomes one and a half million tourists annually.
St. Moritz Ski Slopes
The area is divided into three sectors: Corviglia, Corvatsch, and Diavolezza.
Corviglia
From St. Moritz itself, a cable car ascends to Corviglia at 2,486 meters, where intermediate-level slopes are located. For experts and thrill-seekers, freeride skiing is available beneath the Marguns and Suvretta stations.
Corvatsch
Corvatsch is a fifteen-minute bus ride away, but it’s the most beautiful ski area. Long red runs can be marked as challenging blue runs. The summit of Corvatsch offers everything a skier’s heart can desire: from an icy slope that transitions into freeride runs on the other side, to special trails for off-piste ski touring.
Diavolezza
Diavolezza, the third area, is located a half-hour drive from St. Moritz. There are no queues at the lifts, but it does offer an excellent three-kilometer black run.
