If you’re feeling adventurous, you can stroll to the end of the “bridge,” which extends 300 meters into the sea, and enjoy the beach. From there, you can continue your stroll along the main pedestrian streets – Aleksandrovska and Aleko Bogoridi. Here you can see numerous landmarks, such as the city’s symbol, the “Navel of Burgas,” or “Compass,” as well as the Cathedral of Saints Cyril and Methodius. A few blocks from the sea is the Armenian Apostolic Church of Surp Khach, and further inland, you can reach St. Anastasia Island, home to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

Burgas Beaches
Burgas’s free sandy beaches are clean and have a gradual entry into the water, making them ideal for children and swimmers new to the water. The central beach, located along the Sea Garden, has good infrastructure: sun loungers and umbrellas are free, and there are showers and changing rooms. The sand on the central beach is dark and warms well in the sun, making it suitable for medical procedures. During high season, sun loungers may be occupied. However, it’s important to remember that the port and oil refinery are located nearby, so the water can sometimes have an unpleasant odor. In this case, it’s recommended to move to another beach.

The northern beach was previously considered a nudist destination, but it has now become popular with regular vacationers. In the northern part of the city, people can visit “salt baths” – lakes with healing mud, which are located near the beach.
