Bulgarian Resort – Dunes

Dunes is a relatively new but already very popular resort in Bulgaria. It is located on the Black Sea coast, 40 km south of Burgas and 7 km from Sozopol, in the northern Strandzha Mountains. Founded just 25 years ago, the resort exudes a modern spirit blended with Bulgarian traditions.

Holidays at Dunes
Holidays at Dunes are perfect for the whole family. There’s a full range of entertainment for both adults and children. You can spend carefree time lounging on the beach or strolling along the coast, go windsurfing and sailing, go horseback riding through the most beautiful parts of the Strandzha Mountains, or play mini-golf or tennis. Dunes has seven courts, two of which are open 24 hours a day.

Entertainment and Attractions at Dunes
The resort combines a modern spirit with the uniqueness of Bulgarian traditions, giving it a special charm. Although Dunes lacks luxury tourism with a full range of amenities, it boasts many beautiful wilderness areas. For example, just half a kilometer from Dunes lies the famous Arkutino Nature Reserve, and beyond it lies the Ropotamo Nature Reserve, reminiscent of a true jungle. Two more reserves, Vodyanaya Lilia and Veljov Vir, are located near the Perla campsite. The Via Pontica migratory bird route runs along this part of the coast. At the end of each summer, you can observe thousands of storks, pelicans, and dozens of species of birds of prey. Veselaya Rock offers a magnificent view of the village’s surroundings.

Surrounding Dunes are marshy lagoons, a haven for many animal and plant species. Sand lilies grow on the sand dunes, and yellow lake roses can be seen on the surface of the lagoon, alongside snow-white water lilies. Not far from the village is Maslyany Mys, the mouth of the Ropotamo River, with steep slopes that offer magnificent views of the surrounding area.
