Tips for Packing Before a Trip

Packaging before a trip can be a real challenge. You need to be vigilant to ensure nothing is forgotten or damaged, and you also need to somehow fit all that stuff into a suitcase or bag.

Clothes and Shoes
If your luggage is properly distributed in your suitcase, you’re already halfway there. The process begins with placing shoes along the sides of the suitcase, then we arrange long items of clothing (pants, dresses, sundresses) so that their edges overlap the side of the suitcase. Ultimately, these items will cover all the other items.

The next level of packing involves compactly rolling up clothes that don’t roll into piles, thus taking up much less space. Next, you should pack lightweight clothing, as well as small items, cosmetic bags, and important documents.

Cosmetics, Accessories, and Other Small Items
Gathering various jars, tubes, and bottles from the bathroom and simply throwing them in your suitcase is certainly not the best idea. It’s recommended to purchase miniature versions of your favorite products in advance and pack them in a transparent cosmetic bag. Shampoo and shower gel are usually provided at the hotel, and sunscreen lotion can be purchased locally, but compact bottles of perfume or moisturizer are always useful on the road.

Unnecessary Items
An umbrella may seem unnecessary on a traveler’s list, but a raincoat is better for protection from the elements; it adds virtually no weight and doesn’t take up much space in your luggage. Laptop and camera cases can also be left at home, wrapped in soft clothing first.

As for a hairdryer and iron, they are not required at the hotel, and a little casualness can add even more charm to a resort look. As for books and guidebooks, it is currently preferable to have them in electronic format.
