The island of Ischia is located 40 kilometers from Naples and 7 kilometers from the coast. It is divided into several districts: Ischia, Barano, Casamicciola, Forio, Lacco Ameno, and Serrara.
One of its main attractions is its thermal parks, which have earned their fame thanks to their healing mud. This unique material can renew the skin and relieve stress and fatigue without medication or medical procedures. Simply immerse yourself in the mud, which is approximately two years old: during this time, ordinary clay, mixed with mineral hydrogen sulfide water, is transformed into a healing substance by bacteria, sunlight, and sea air. Even celebrities like Elizabeth Taylor and Clark Gable have indulged in this miraculous remedy.
Ischia Beaches
Marina dei Maronti is the longest sandy beach on the island. The most convenient way to reach it is by sea taxi from Porto Sant’Angelo. The beach is also famous for its thermal springs and healing mud. Another popular beach, Citara Beach, is located at the foot of Mount Epomeo.
