Åre is the largest ski resort in Scandinavia. It comprises five ski areas and is located in four villages: Åre-Björnen, Duved, Åre-By, and Tegefjäll. A dedicated ski bus takes visitors from each village to all the ski areas.
Åre combines a comfortable holiday with a high level of organization. The resort’s technical characteristics make it suitable even for professionals. It has hosted several Alpine Skiing World Cup stages. A major advantage of Åre is the large capacity of its over forty ski lifts. In addition to a variety of slopes, cross-country ski trails are located throughout the resort. Snowboarders have a dedicated “fun park” with a dedicated “Snowcross” chute. You’ll also experience Scandinavian flair here: ride a reindeer sleigh or dine on freshly caught salmon.
The Åre ski resort is a miniature city with numerous restaurants and shops. The resort’s highest point is one of the highest ski areas in all of Northern Europe.
Due to the short winter days, you can enjoy night skiing on well-lit slopes and, if you’re lucky, you might even see the Northern Lights.
