The Åre Ski Resort comprises four villages: Duved, Tegefjäll, Åre-By, and Åre-Björnen, and five ski areas: Duved, Tegefjäll, Åre-By, Åre-Björnen, and Redkulle. All villages are connected by buses, so no matter where you stay, skiing is possible in any area of the resort.
Åre is known for one of the best lift systems in Northern Europe, as well as 100 km of varied ski slopes. The vertical drop is 900 m, and snow is guaranteed from November to May. Due to its technical characteristics, the resort is often called the “Scandinavian Alps.” Prices here are lower than in the Alps, and skiers can also enjoy Scandinavian activities such as reindeer rides and tasting freshly smoked salmon. The resort offers excellent conditions for both alpine and cross-country skiing. Snowboarders have access to all the slopes, as well as a fun park and a dedicated snowcross course.
The ski season in Åre runs from mid-November to mid-May, when most of the lifts are operational.
The resort’s vertical drop ranges from 440 m to 1,420 m. There are 12 green runs, 39 blue runs, 39 red runs, 5 black runs, and 5 virgin runs. The resort’s lifts can carry up to 47,000 people per hour, including one gondola lift, one gondola lift, six chairlifts, 31 T-bar lifts, and one funicular.
