
Bormio is part of the Alta Valtellina ski region and is part of the Alta Valtellina Lift Pass, allowing access to the ski slopes of Livigno and San Colombano.
This resort is considered one of the most modern in Italy thanks to its wide selection of pistes and excellent descents. Comprised of three ski areas—Bormio 2000, Santa Caterina Valfurva, and Oga Valdidentro—it offers 120 km of pistes at altitudes of up to 3,000 meters. Furthermore, Bormio is the largest thermal spa in northern Italy, renowned since ancient times. Bormio is an attractive tourist destination in the Italian Alps, where luxurious spas combine with exquisite pistes and unique activities. In winter, this resort is popular for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating at the Bormio Ice Palace or at the two outdoor skating rinks, Isolaccia and Santa Caterina. Snowshoeing, ice climbing, and husky sledding are also available.
In summer, Bormio offers golf, horseback riding, fishing, trekking, and mountain biking in the Stelvio National Park.
The town of Bormio is rich in attractions, including the Cathedral of San Vitale, the Alberti Tower, the Astronomical Clock, the Palazzo De Simoni, the Bagni Vecchi Baths, and the Rezia Alpine Botanical Garden. A 40-minute drive away is the town of Grozio, home to fascinating historical sites, including Neolithic rock paintings, the ruins of a medieval castle, a church crypt containing the remains of plague victims, the town cathedral, and the Villa Visconti. There are also numerous restaurants, bars, discos, shops, and cafes.
