Attractions in Cattolica
The Town Hall, a majestic Neo-Renaissance building with exquisite decorative patterns and exquisite mosaics, was founded in 1914. Its center houses the municipal offices, while its two wings house a comprehensive school where girls and boys are educated separately. The Town Hall is surrounded by the first city garden, recently renovated and adorned with fountains.
Worthy of note is the Santa Croce Gallery, housed in the former church of the same name, built in the 16th century next to the Pilgrim Hospital.
Another important example of religious architecture is the Church of Sant’Apollinare, built in the late 13th century, although its current appearance dates back to 1782. The Malatesta Tower, built in 1491 to protect the city from Turkish invaders, is also a tourist attraction. It was also used as a lookout point from which local authorities monitored illegal trade and the approach of pirates.
Cattolica Beaches
The crescent-shaped sandy beach of Cattolica, stretching for two kilometers, has been awarded the Blue Flag for the cleanliness of its waters. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available for a fee, and can be rented for a day or for a longer period—a week, a month, or the entire season. The coastline is well-equipped: each beach has its own room and offers a variety of services, from small pools and jacuzzis to outdoor gyms, billiards, table tennis, pedalo and boat rentals, and children’s clubs. Numerous restaurants and bars along the beach are open from early morning until evening.
