Flims Ski Resort

The Flims ski resort was founded in the late 19th century, more precisely in 1877, when the first Park Hotel opened. Surprisingly, back then, it was primarily focused on summer vacations, thanks to the beautiful local scenery. The town is located at the foot of the large Flimserstein mountain range, on a natural terrace north of the Rhine Valley.

Flims’s forested slopes, the Fläm River, the Coma and Cresta lakes, and the pristine air make it the perfect place for wellness. From late November, the mountains are covered in snow, attracting ski enthusiasts from all over the world.

Slopes in Flims
The local slopes offer a variety of skiing experiences for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels: there are 58 different ski slopes and 60 km of cross-country ski trails. Snowboard enthusiasts can enjoy an excellent fun park with a halfpipe and a freestyle academy, while freeriders can test their skills on almost every mountain.

The Arena Express lift takes tourists from Flims-Dorf to the Plaun ski area. From there, you can descend to Nagens or climb to the summit of La Siala. The resort’s highest point is 3,018 meters at the Vorab Glacier, although geographically it would be more appropriate to place it in neighboring Laax. However, since all three resorts—Flims, Laax, and Falera—form a single ski area, the “Alpine Arena,” the distinctions are purely formal.

Flims Attractions and Activities
The old part of town, Flims-Dorf, has preserved the atmosphere of a resort from the 19th century. Narrow and cozy streets, courtyards decorated with lanterns or snow sculptures, and typical Alpine architecture. The more modern and pompous Flims-Waldhaus district boasts numerous luxury hotels, restaurants, health resorts, sports centers, and shops.
