Interesting Places in Belgrade

Belgrade is a unique city; it is believed to have been completely destroyed 39 times! Hence, the blend of Eastern and Western cultures creates the unique charm of modern Belgrade.

The heart of the city is the medieval white stone fortress of Kalemegdan, located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. Many buildings within its walls date back to the 17th century. Near the fortifications lies a stunning park with flora from almost the entire European continent.

Next to the fortress is Stari Grad, the old part of Belgrade. Today, it houses most of the capital’s museums, the best restaurants, and restored palaces.
The New Town, located south of the Belgrade Fortress, is spacious and bright, built according to the latest architectural standards, with numerous parks, alleys, and boulevards.

Smederevo, near Belgrade, is home to the largest plain fortress in Europe—Branković Fortress, which covers an area of ​​11 hectares. It is surrounded by complexes of buildings, known as the “Small Town” and “Big Town.” A Byzantine-style cathedral is located here.
