Košice is located in Slovakia, 440 kilometers from the capital. This large industrial center will surprise you with its blend of ancient architecture and modern urban landscape, set against the backdrop of Černá hora and the Hornád River.

Košice’s Old Town is the main attraction for tourists. The city itself is compact, so it’s easy to get there on foot. You can also take the local trams and buses. Walk along Mlýnska Street to Hlavná Street and admire the marvelous architecture.

The Cathedral of St. Elizabeth, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, is located on Hlavná Street. This structure took two centuries to build! Inside, you can admire the frescoes and statues.

The City Theater, whose ceiling is decorated with scenes from Shakespeare’s works, also attracts tourists with its artistic paintings.

Additionally, visit St. Michael’s Church, St. Urban’s Bell Tower, the Plague Column and Executioner’s Bastion, the Marathon Runner Statue, and numerous palaces. The square’s main attraction is the singing fountain, unique in Europe.
After completing the “must-see” program, you can continue exploring Košice, wandering through parks, enjoying nature, and visiting local museums—the Museum of Metal Jewelry is especially recommended.
