It’s hard to imagine a more outlandish idea than coming to Leukerbad just to ski. The resort’s main attraction is its thermal springs. It’s home to one of the world’s largest thermal baths, the Burgerbad. This makes the resort an ideal destination for those looking to combine wellness with skiing.
Leukerbad Slopes
The resort has over 60 km of pistes, mostly red. Rinderhütte is the main hub for skiers and snowboarders, where chairlifts and funiculars converge, and from where cable cars lead to the start of the FIS black piste. From Rinderhütte, you can ski down to the Torrentalp or toward Albinenleiten. A four-seater gondola lift takes you up to the Feuillirett, and from there, down the ski slopes to Leukerbad.
For beginner skiers, a slope with three green runs is located on the outskirts of the village. Ski schools are also available. Cross-country skiers can enjoy two ski areas: a five-kilometer trail near the village and two trails on the high-altitude lake Daubensee.
Leukerbad Entertainment and Attractions
The resort boasts a large number of restaurants, bars, discos, and nightclubs. Active recreation options include indoor tennis courts, badminton, table tennis, a fitness center, mountaineering, paragliding, and squash.
Leukerbad also offers numerous sightseeing tours to Montreux, Lausanne, Verbier, Crans-Montana, and Zermatt.
