New York City—an ultra-dynamic, constantly on-the-go city—stuns and captivates, plunging you into a riot of vibrant colors and multifaceted emotions.
Entertainment and Attractions
New York’s greatest asset is that it always reveals the side of its multifaceted character that appeals to you: museums or shops, hip-hop scenes in the Bronx or the sounds of the Metropolitan Opera, historic buildings or the glittering mirrored facades of skyscrapers.
New York City encompasses virtually everything the planet has to offer—various examples of art, culture, history, and religion, the best and worst aspects of civilization.
Every tourist is immediately struck by the city’s skyscrapers—the Chrysler, Woolworth, Condé Nast, the Empire State Building, and the Seagram Building. The Statue of Liberty is another landmark, without which it’s impossible to imagine New York. It is located on the island of the same name, next to which is the Ellis Island Museum at the mouth of the Hudson River.
The Museum Mile near Hyde Park is one of the main stops on the route. It begins with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which houses the largest art collection in the Western Hemisphere. Further on, there is a museum on almost every street: the Barrio Museum on 104th Street, the Museum of New York on 103rd Street, the Jewish Museum on 92nd Street, the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum on 91st Street, the Academy of Art on 89th Street, the Guggenheim Museum on 88th Street, and the Neue Galerie on 86th Street.
Broadway is the longest street in the city, famous for its numerous theaters and shows. The Financial District is home to the New York Stock Exchange and Wall Street. Wall Street is the financial center of New York City and America. And of course, the Brooklyn Bridge, connecting Manhattan with Brooklyn, is unmissable.
Times Square is home to the Biltmore Theater and the world’s largest toy store. The Bronx Zoo and Botanical Garden are located in the Bronx. Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue are home to a string of chic shops and Rockefeller Center. It is at Rockefeller Center that the Christmas tree has been erected every Christmas since 1931, attracting tourists from all over the world.
