Prešov Attractions

Prešov, a Slovak city on the border of Poland and Ukraine, nestled on the slopes of the High Tatras, is a beautiful and tranquil place. Prešov is the center of the most beautiful ski region in the country, and many use it as a stopover en route to the slopes.

Attractions
World War II largely spared Prešov, so buildings from various eras have been preserved: from the 14th-century Catholic cathedral with its unique Baroque altar to the 17th-century Lutheran church.

One of the city’s advantages is that all the interesting sights are concentrated on the main street. Large stores, shopping centers, and several internet cafes are located here. On the main street, you can see the Church of St. Nicholas, one of the city’s most important relics. This example of Gothic art was reborn from ruins. Now restored, it delights visitors with a multitude of sculptures. The Klobuszycki Palace, the Evangelical Church, the Jewish Quarter, and a number of churches and temples can all be seen on the main street.

The city market is a very popular destination. The stalls are so overflowing with goods that it’s hard to find anything. And after a pleasant shopping experience, it’s time to go for a stroll. The old Semiata Park is a wonderful place for this. Nearby is a fountain shaped like a small island with Neptune at its center.

Prešov is the only city in the country that has been involved in salt mining since ancient times. In the museum, you can see various types of salt mining and production, as well as learn about the equipment.
