Rovinj is the “Croatian Venice” and one of the most beautiful cities in Croatia. The city has transformed into a modern resort with a well-developed infrastructure – excellent hotels, nightclubs, restaurants, and beautiful beaches.
The first written mention of the city dates back to the 3rd century. Throughout its long history, Rovinj has been conquered and sacked many times. At various times, the city was part of the Byzantine Empire, Austria-Hungary, France, Germany, and Venice.
Today, tourism is the city’s main source of income.
