Seychelles Vacations

The Seychelles are often featured in international travel guides as “ideal wedding destinations.” These picturesque islands attract newlyweds from all over the world, dreaming of a honeymoon surrounded by natural beauty. The Seychelles offers something rarely found in the modern world—complete privacy, tranquility, and the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely pace of life, making it the ideal place to start a family.

Seychelles Beaches
All beaches in the Seychelles are public and sandy, forming small bays. Hotels have their own stretches of beachfront, but there’s no guarantee that their guests will be the only ones using them. Sun loungers and umbrellas, where available, are provided free of charge.

The busiest beach in the Seychelles is Beau Vallon, just 3 km from Victoria. It is protected from the waves by a reef and equipped with diving platforms. This is a great spot for families with children: the water is gently sloping, there are no currents or sharp corals, and lifeguards are always on duty.

There are bars, shops, and various entertainment options, befitting a popular resort. Mahé’s west coast is famous for its secluded bays, not all of which are suitable for swimming, but the views are stunning.

The most picturesque beach on Mahé is Anse Intendance in the southwest, surrounded by coconut palms. Praslin’s main beach area is Anse Lazio: it’s quiet on weekdays, but on weekends, the shores fill with locals.

Diving in the Seychelles
Visiting the Seychelles and not diving into the underwater world would be a great loss. Visibility here reaches 30 meters, and the comfortable temperature makes diving enjoyable. The underwater world of the Indian Ocean is striking in its diversity: a multitude of fish, sparkling shells, and colorful corals create an unforgettable experience. Encounters with turtles, rays, and great white sharks will be unforgettable.

Surfing
The islands of Mahé and Praslin offer the best surfing conditions in the Seychelles. Grand Anse Beach in northwest Mahé attracts surfers with its two-meter waves. Other beaches suitable for surfing on Mahé include Beau Vallon and Anse Bougainville. In general, the water on the east coast of the island is calmer than the changeable conditions on the west.

Fishing
Experienced fishermen consider the Seychelles an ideal destination. Here you can catch tuna, barracuda, tiger sharks, and mako sharks. But the most valuable catch is considered to be the blue marlin, which can weigh over 400 kg. It is best to go fishing early in the morning to reach the deep waters and catch small fish for bait. The optimal period for fishing is from October to April.
