Shopping in Prague is a true treat. Anyone familiar with the local shops knows that it requires some time and money. Even the souvenir stalls are so magically beautiful that a simple magnet won’t cut it. And how can you not at least touch and photograph everyone’s favorite cartoon mole?
The best souvenir and tourist brand to bring back from Prague is considered to be the garnet. Every jewelry display in the city is adorned with pieces made with this stone. It’s not exactly cheap, so we don’t recommend buying garnet in the city center. A trip to the Lapiz Diamond factory, the largest in the Czech Republic, will make this “precious” shopping experience even more affordable. You can also buy world-famous Bohemian glass there.
Most tourists who go to Prague calculate in advance how many bottles of beer they can bring home. There’s no need to explain why. It’s hard to name the best, but we know the unrivaled one: Pardubice Porter. Its unique, sweet, bittersweet, and caramel flavor sets it apart from hundreds of other beers. Becherovka and slivovitz are also popular among Czechs.
Beer-based cosmetics—shampoos, creams, masks, and so on—are very popular among tourists.
Prague is a paradise for those who seek out European brands. Prices are low, and during sales, you can find discounts of up to 70-80%.
The first two weeks of January are considered the best time to shop.
Sales generally occur in April, July, and October, with the biggest ones starting at the end of December. In the run-up to Christmas, endless rows of souvenir stalls unfold in the city squares.
