Crater Lake is one of the most spectacular natural wonders of Oregon and the entire United States. Located within Crater Lake National Park, it is known for its incredibly clear and deep blue water. The lake was formed approximately 7,700 years ago after a powerful eruption of the ancient Mount Mazama volcano, when the mountain’s summit collapsed, creating a massive caldera that gradually filled with rain and meltwater.

Today, Crater Lake is considered the deepest lake in the United States, reaching a depth of approximately 594 meters. Due to the lack of rivers flowing into the lake, the water here is exceptionally clear and clean, giving it its famous deep blue color, attracting tourists from around the world.

Hiking, camping, wildlife watching, and landscape photography are popular within the park. In winter, the region transforms into a true snowy wonderland, with massive snowfalls attracting skiers and snowshoeers.
